I am an adventurer at heart, delighting in the pandemonium of nature and the unpredictability of the world. My artistic practice extracts meaning from chaos and expresses it through the tactile, three-dimensional medium of clay.

Clay allows me to approach each piece from every angle, letting my mind and hands wander freely. Through nerikomi, I create vibrant abstract patterns that transform functional pottery into adventure. With sgraffito, I give life and narrative to each object. When stacking thrown pieces into towering forms, I express the inherent geometry of nature.

My inspiration flows from experiences as a traveler and scuba diver. The vibrancy of underwater worlds and their alien shapes arise in my work - pieces that resemble plants, mushrooms, and strange creatures from the deep sea. I want to share the beauty that lies beneath the surface of our oceans, beauty that so many never witness. Conserving our oceans and their creatures is of great importance to me.

Raku firing unites all my expressions - it is immediate gratification, wild color and pure energy. Each new technique opens up a new world, reflecting how I move through life.

Clay provides me with a glimpse of chaos and joy. Through adventures in technique, I make sense of the pandemonium. Finding balance and purpose while opening others’ eyes to the beautiful, fragile planet we inhabit.
